Finding the Wedding Planner

June 22nd, 2008 by leighamalta

By Briana Liebmann Are you in love with the dream of the perfect wedding yet overwhelmed with all the details and responsibility put upon you to plan your dream day yourself? A reliable wedding planner can help make the day you’ll always remember a wonderful experience instead of a memory worthy of a nervous breakdown. Also called wedding consultants or coordinators, wedding planners are the bride’s right hand down to every detail in the ceremony and reception. She can be there the moment after the ring is on the finger to the last guest at the reception. The bride has the choice to give as much or as little responsibility to the planner as she desires. But how do you know if you should hire a wedding planner? Here are a few examples where a wedding planner can help: 1. The first and probably most important aim of a wedding planner is to relieve as much stress for the bride as possible while still making her feel in control of the event. 2. If you are planning on a budget, your wedding planner will be sensitive and also be capable to balance the expenses. A good planner will prioritize what needs more or less monetary attention. Also, you will more likely go over your budget if you plan alone. Your wedding planner will not only make you stick to your prearranged budget, but also knows many vendors and can find special deals you would otherwise not be able to attain. 3. A wedding planner will be flexible enough to accommodate your dreams for your perfect wedding, they should have the creativity to both encourage and execute your unique ideas. This is your wedding. You know what will make it memorable, and your planner should help make this dream come true. However, these professionals know what is and is not acceptable for a wedding ceremony. A good wedding planner will be honest about your not so great ideas such as the best man’s beer funneling contest. 4. If the ceremony is planned out of state, a planner in that area will be familiar with geography and will know the best vendors for that area. 5. One of the most important qualities of your perfect wedding planner is a shared sense of taste. Ask her what type of weddings she likes and ask to see samples of her past events. The right planner can narrow down choices in a certain category depending on your taste. Instead of thousands of invitations, a wedding planner will weed out the obviously unsatisfactory ones and let you choose from the top three. 6. Finally, wedding planners know all the questions everyone else forgets to ask. If the ceremony is outside, she will remember where the bathrooms are or if portable ones need to be rented. It is the wedding planner’s job to leave no corner untouched. There are many online resources you can use to search for the closest planners in your area. Remember to interview each applicant to see if they are qualified and if you both see eye to eye. Once your perfect wedding planner is hired, relax and know your big day is in good hands. Three Steps to Solving a Church Giving Crisis

June 19th, 2008 by leighamalta

By Rod Rogers Even if you boldly teach biblical principles of stewardship year after year, as I did, you will still experience an occasional church giving crisis. What do you do when your giving begins to plummet? If you’re like many pastors, you probably pray harder and offer a brief reminder to your congregation to be faithful in their giving. In most cases this does not fix the problem. It certainly never worked for me. After many years of fumbling around, I finally figured out that I should address poor giving as I would any other problem in the church: by taking the lead to determine the cause, to clearly explain that cause to my people, and to challenge them to do what they should to solve it. Here are three steps you can take to solve any giving crisis: 1. Check the giving records to discover the cause. Your offerings haven’t shrunk for some mysterious or mystical reason. They have dropped because some of your people have failed to give as they should. Have your church treasurer examine the giving records and tell you what changes he sees in your people’s giving patterns. You don’t necessarily need to know the names of those whose giving is sliding; but you do need to know if a large donor has stopped giving, or if ten families who regularly tithe have given a much smaller amount than normal. 2. Directly address the issue with your congregation. Clearly explain the nature of the problem (”We are $1,500 behind each month”) and its causes (”Five members gave nothing last month,” or “Twelve families significantly decreased their giving the last four weeks”). You can do this in a matter of fact way without singling anyone out and without scolding or shaming your people. 3. Challenge your church family to do what they should to fix the problem. I always took the position that poor giving was not primarily the pastor’s problem (assuming I was giving obediently), but that it was a crisis our entire church family should own. It was their responsibility to give to overcome the crises that they had created. Therefore, I would boldly challenge them to do what they should to keep our finances stable. For example, here is an actual letter I sent to our members and regular attendees on October 20, 1999, about a giving crisis we were in. Dear Friend, I’m writing to you, a part of our church family, to let you know our offerings have been down in the last couple of months. This has created a budget problem we must not ignore. Here are the pertinent figures: July - $910.00 under budget August - $42.00 under budget September - $2,397.00 under budget (Here’s where things got real serious.) October - $1,297.00 under budget (so far) Since our new budget year began on July 1, we have fallen behind by $4,646.00. If this trend continues we will find ourselves in deep trouble soon, since our budget contains no “fluff.” How do I explain this deficit? It’s not due to anything mysterious or mystical. It is explained by the following facts: Three members (who committed to giving 10% in their membership covenant) have not given anything for four or more months. One member has not given anything for two months. Three members have not given their usual tithe amount, but have significantly decreased their giving, for two to four months. (This doesn’t include one member family who has been unemployed for several monthsbut who is still giving!). Five regularly attending families/individuals have decreased their giving from their usual amount for two to four months. These giving decreases account for approximately $4,000.00 of our $4,646.00 deficit. As your pastor I am asking you to please prayerfully evaluate your giving to see if you are acting as a faithful steward of God’s money. And if you have been sloppy in your giving, please consider making up what you have missed! Of course, if you have had a financial crisis which accounts for your decreased giving, we understand, and would love to be able to pray, assist, and encourage you. Just let us know! No one likes to have to talk about money, but I just thought you should know what’s going on. You have been a wonderfully giving congregation for many years, so I have confidence you will do what you can to help meet our current need. Please be praying with shameless persistence for our offerings to increase to meet our financial needs. Our people responded well to this letter and our giving was back on track in a few months. When you fall into a giving crisis, don’t ignore it and hope it will go away. Get the facts, share them with your congregation, and challenge them to do what’s right. In most cases they will. Tips on How to Lose Weight without Beating Yourself up in the Process

June 7th, 2008 by leighamalta

By Abbie Frank Why do we continue to support an industry that delivers no more than a 5% long-term success rate? How about because the $30 billion dollar weight loss industry is selling what we want, namely promises of instant, easy and quick weight reduction. That reason is we expect weight loss to be like everything else in our society, namely, almost instant. While we have instant entertainment, fast food and information on the Web, our bodies are organic and physical. While all this instant delivery puts us in the mindset that losing 10 - 20 or more pounds is simply a matter of taking a pill or changing a diet temporarily, our physical nature works against that from happening. The human body is focused on self-preservation. Serious dieting can be recognized by our body as starvation which in turn puts it into a sustained self-preservation mode. Bodies will lower their metabolism to maintain and protect existing energy reserves stored in fat. This means that a radical diet is not the way to lose weight. So let’s try and get past the instant Society mindset and realize that losing weight is a long term goal. It took time to gain all that weight, and it will take time to lose it. More importantly, it will take a lifetime to continue to maintain a healthy weight. The one key to learn how to lose weight is to not get discouraged and realize that losing weight is not a month long effort only. You can help yourself to lose weight by changing your lifestyle, one minor step at a time. For example 1. Look long term. Once a diet is selected, there are times when all of us will just decide not to follow the plan. This doesn’t mean failure! Tomorrow’s a new day and another opportunity to make good food and lifestyle decisions 2. Add some activity into your daily routine. Wash the car by hand, do the vacuuming or gardening yourself. Find ways to become more active in the course of the day. This may mean taking the stairs instead of an elevator or parking farther away when going to the store. All these ideas take almost no time but it can increase activity, and that’s a good thing. 3. Stop obsessing about weight. Okay, your fat. Obsessing and worrying about some extra poundage is not going to make it go away. Everyone’s weight fluctuates on a daily basis and weighing in all the time can damage your positive outlook about losing weight. It’s easy to get discouraged when your weight goes up, because you’ve made the extra effort to drink additional water. Weigh yourself once a week, and other than that, stay off the scale 4. Learn to like water. Not for swimming or flushing or bathing but drinking. Experts agree that a healthy body needs at least 64 ounces of water a day. If you absolutely cannot handle drinking plain water, go to the supermarket to pick up food flavorings. These are small bottles of flavor usually kept in the baking aisle and can be used to flavor your water without adding calories. Remember that the key to how to lose weight is to realize that losing weight is a long term proposition. It’s only by making those minor changes and adjustments in your routine daily can you expect to not only lose weight and keep it off permanently Abigail Franks has done extensive research on diet and weight loss. Loose Weight and Keep It Off Guaranteed

June 1st, 2008 by leighamalta

By James Hegarty Many people that start on a weight loss regimen often find that they are not successful and give up. They find that they cannot get what they envisioned and give up on their hope of loosing weight, looking and feeling good about themselves. The reason is simply because they are following the wrong plan. It is important to know that everyone does not have the same body composition. This is the main reason for so much failure when it comes to weight loss. What works for one person will not necessarily work for another. All bodies are different and work with different strategies so it is important that you find the diet best suited for your own body type. That being said there are guidelines that can be followed which are suitable for any body type. But it is usually a good idea to seek some professional guide if an individual wants to delve deeper. Believe it or not the consensus among specialists is that generally most diets will not give much benefit for the long term. Diets usually do well for a short time or short term but for the long haul loosing weight is all about the diet being a lifestyle not a trend. Most people start a diet but after a period of time the weight is back and they seem to be back to square one. The best and real solution lies in a change in eating habits and exercising. With that insight you find that loosing weight is pretty straightforward. There is no magic wand but a simple and sensible regimen is what is required. For the long term and the best way the answer is a simple equation. Burn more calories than you eat. Whatever you do that is the one constant you must follow for any success in weight loss initially and for the long term. Another point to remember is that a calorie is a calorie is a calorie be it a hundred calories from a hot fudge brownie or a hundred calories from a low calorie cookie. Let those around you know you are attempting to loose weight, their praise in your initial success can help you keep up with your weight lose. They are likely to support you with any tips they know or have tried that can help further. That said you should not forget one of the most important steps in loosing weight, goal setting. Setting a goal is important but for the long term the goal should not be too ambitious. That is the number one killer of many a weight loss attempt. The rush to loose weight too quickly and in too much of a hurry usually results in the failure of the weight loss endeavor. Taking small steps or baby steps will usually result in attaining the goal. Remember it is a lifestyle so there really should be no rush. Another reason to take those baby steps is that you will follow through on small goals as opposed to one huge goal. And as you achieve each small goal you are mentally geared for more, you fell rewarded and willing to take the next step. Do not follow blindly the claims of those who say they lost 20, 30 or more pounds in one month. Remember that you are different and have a different body structure dissimilar to theirs. Instead focus on following your baby steps and at the end of the day you will find you came out on top for the person the weight loss is most important to, you. Four Strategies You Can Try To Decrease the Stress with the Children Inside on a Rainy Day

May 18th, 2008 by leighamalta

By Chris Le Roy Nobody can deny, deny, having children cooped up in the house on a rainy day can be one of the most infuriating and frustrating experiences ever especially when you not only have your own children in the house but the rest of the streets children as well. So what do you do? Well as a parent it is your responsibility to help these children develop the skills to act in a responsible way. The most effective way, is to do that by getting all the children involved in activities together, with you. This will do two things, one it will help you set the ground rules on behavior in the house that is acceptable and two it will allow the children as a whole to socialise and to work as a group together. Learning the ability to socialise and to work together as a team will hold them in great stead as they enter university or go into the work force. So how do we do that I have outlined below four strategies that will help you to keep the children occupied whilst it is raining outside. Strategy 1 - Play Group Games In the hustle and bustle of our world today, far too many families do not spend enough time socialising with their children. One of the best ways to do this is to turn off the computer or computer games and to play a group game together regardless of the age of the children. That is right; you can include children as young as 2 and as old as sixteen with these games. The choice which is most important is the game you play. When you are playing group games, everyone must have a role for each person or if someone is not included they are going to become disruptive and this strategy will not work. One of the games my parents used to play with me, my brother and our friends was Monopoly. Now I here you all saying it, how is a two year old going to play this game. Well, in reality, you need to include the younger people with the older children so that they can work as a team. The older member makes the decision on what houses to buy, whether to build a hotel or how much rent to charge but the younger children, can role the dice and count to where the pieces need to go on the board, slightly older children at the age of 5 or 6 could actually read the Chance cards out. From an educational point of view, having the two year olds count the number of squares their piece needs to jump to will help with them learn their numbers for school. Getting the 5 or 6 year olds to read the Chance cards helps them to learn to read and being in a team with an older child will help them learn as a team and the older children learn the ability of patience and also how to work in a team with people of varying age. Plus the most important thing is that the older children learn the value of money. Ultimately, playing group games like this will help all of the children and adolescents in their development towards becoming an adult and you as the parents will get to keep your sanity for another day. One thing I would strongly suggest is that you never tell a child they are to young to be involved, always find something for them to do in the game, so that they feel just as involved as the others. If you have ever watched a child grow up, they always tell you that they are a big kid now, help them to become one and play an important role in society as the skills you teach them now are what they will use as adults. Strategy 2 - Have a Bake Off Rainy Days are absolutely fantastic for Bake Off days. Now if you do not know what a bake off day is, it is a day where the kids make their own deserts for lunch or afternoon tea. These were fantastic times in our family and one of the key benefits it taught me was how to cook. In the days of fast food, many adults have seemed to by pass the art of cooking. When I met my wife, she was flat out boiling an egg but over the last few years she has become an accomplished cook. When you have a bake off, cook simple things like cookies or muffins as these are really simple things to cook and all the children regardless of age can help. Whilst I do not condone 2- 8 year olds going anywhere near an oven (that is for grown ups) they can play an important role in putting all the ingredients together, mixing them, measuring them out and most importantly decorating them at the end. The key advantage of getting them to do the measuring them is to help them learn measurements, counting and numbers. You can also get them to read the instructions in the cook book or on the back of the packets. When the cookies or muffins are ready to be decorated, play a game with the children in getting them to count the number of items they are going to put on their cookies or muffins. For example if they were going to put a face on the muffin, talk about how many eyes will you put on the muffin, where will you put the mouth on the muffin and how many ears will it have. Each of these discussions will help in learning to count and they will also improve their skills in expressing themselves. Strategy 3 - Discuss A Book, Video or Computer Game Together When people first here of the third strategy, they immediately think about books like the Lord of the Rings, or Harry Potter but they do not have to be. Look when you have a number of children in your house, get them all together, read a book to them and then talk about the book. Doing this is going to help in their development and will give them a huge step forward when it comes to high school. Learning to analyse a book and express what you think are the messages of the book will help your children immensely when they go to school. In High School today across the western world, one of the tasks in their English classes they are going to be expected to read a book and then write an essay about the messages they have found in the book and the sooner they learn these skills, the more effective they will be in their classes. For younger children you might read a Dr Seuss book and then look at the pictures with them. Talk to your children about the pictures. For example if you are reading a book about hats and there is a hat on the ground, talk about what might be under the hat. Get the children to tell you the colour of the hat. In essence it doe not matter whether you read a book, watch a video or play a computer game, to gain some educational value and to get your children thinking, simply talk about what they have seen or read. Get them to talk about the messages that may have been in the book or video and when it comes to computer games, talk to them in terms of strategy and how they can do better next time. Our children have an innate want to learn and the more we can foster that attitude the more your children will grow and learn and play an important role in society. Strategy 4 - Make Meditation Into A Game Meditation I know, I saw you stop and think then. Meditation for kids, you have got to be kidding. No! If you can teach children how to meditate at a young age you will find that they will continue it as they get older. It has also been shown that children who know how to meditate will be much calmer and in control of their emotions. Further to this, it has been shown that adults who meditate over longer periods have less coronary disease. I watched a research documentary a few years ago where they took ten people who had never meditated and had incredibly high blood pressure and taught them to meditate. They found over a 6 month period those people were able to control their blood pressure more effectively. In fact when they began to meditate for a period of 20 minutes their blood pressure dropped dramatically. Look the bottom line is this, Buddhist monks have been meditating as part of their religion for thousands of years and it amazes me to this day how many monks live to an age over 100 years so all I can say is there is definitely something in this. For the past 10 years I have used meditation to help control my stress levels and I feel much better for it. Meditation for children must be fun and simple. The techniques for children never involve mantras or anything along those lines, they should simply teach the children how to relax and to focus on their inner self. There are lots of internet sites available on teaching children to meditate but one thing you must consider, be very cautious of the type of music you use for meditation. I recommend Baroque Meditation music that has 60 beats a minute as this is the heart rate we are supposed to have. Research has shown that baroque meditation music at 60 beats a minute actually promotes the release of alpha waves from both our left and right sides of our brains. These alpha waves help bring about a sense of calm and can also help in promoting creativity, learning and calmness. Look the bottom line is this, if you want to decrease the stress in your house on those rainy days, then the best way is to occupy your children. By using these four strategies I have outlined, you are also helping your children in their development and as a parent that should always be the most important thing you need to consider. Your children are you future and the future of this world, by helping in their development, let us hope they will contribute to a much more safer world. To finish off, I really want to take a moment to reiterate the Four Strategies once again: Strategy 1 - Play Group Games Strategy 2 - Have a Bake Off Strategy 3 - Discuss A Book, Video or Computer Game Together Strategy 4 - Make Meditation Into A Game Chris has a Six Step Meditation Program called Relaxation Techniques for Stress Management, Baroque Meditation Music - Meditation Music and Seven Ways of Reducing Stress Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Chris_Le_Roy http://EzineArticles.com/?Four-Strategies-You-Can-Try-To-Decrease-the-Stress-with-the-Children-Inside-on-a-Rainy-Day&id=261285 auto lender for hard money bad credit no fee no credit check how to figure federal income tax per paycheck approvalcardcreditonline payday form

How to Have a Great Conversation with Her

May 14th, 2008 by leighamalta

By Crid Lee To have a great conversation with a woman is not that hard at all. Women like men who provide listening ears to them as they share their emotions and feelings to them. For you to have a great conversation with her, the first thing you will need to do is to tell yourself to listen more than you talk. Women do not need you to comment or tell them what to do, they will rather you sit there and listen to them. But you do not just sit there like a dumb-ass; do some actions and shows that you are actually paying attention to her. I am going to share with you some of the steps that you need to do when you are in a conversation with a woman so as to have a great conversation with her. 1. Try to understand what she is interested in, and forget about yourself for a moment. Focus the attention to her and give her sincere complementation. 2. Listen attentively. Remember, talk less, and listen more. Response to what she say with simple words like Yes, or I understand. This shows that you are actually paying attention to what she is saying to you. 3. Respond cleverly when she asks for your opinions, by paraphrasing what you have heard from her in your own words. It shows respect for her when you use your “speaking turn” to show you have been listening and not just to say something new. 4. Knows when the time for you to speak is. This is a very important step as sometimes she will run out of topics to talk to you. In this case, you will need to carry on and lead the conversation instead. One of the ways to carry on with the conversation is to ask questions according to how much you get to know her, and let her gives you the answers. 5. Remember to have eye contact with her. Having eye contact when you are in a conversation with a woman is definitely a great way to seduce her. If you are sitting close to her, you may want to have slight body contact with her. Talking to a woman is not that hard at all as long as you shut the little voice inside of you that tell you You cannot do it. Believe in yourself, you can do it. Women are just human being after all. Adoption, What Do I Do First?

By Janelle Spaulding This article is the first in a series. It is in no way complete or thorough. Please look for further articles in the future. There are many legal aspects to adoption that vary from state to state, court to court, and case to case. You will need an adoption attorney for complete advice on the proper steps to take for your situation. Step 1: Educate Yourself about Adoption Talk to adoptive parents, read pertinent books and articles, and contact local and national organizations that can provide you with information about adoption. Acquaint yourself with common adoption terms, and learn about relevant laws in your state to make sure that you are following legal guidelines as you pursue your adoption. Step 2: Contact an adoption attorney. Adoption is a complex legal process. an attorney versed in adoption can give you advice specific to your circumstances. There are several places that you can look to find an adoption attorney. The local yellow pages under adoption attorneys, the local court system, the local or state bar association, the AAA (Association of Adoption Attorneys), and sometimes local adoption organizations or agencies will have listings. Step 3: Consider the type of child you can best parent. Open your mind to the different children available for adoption. You will need to consider age, race, number, ethnic background, special needs issues, and sex. Each of these possibilities opens new doors for you. The type of child you choose will affect your waiting time. Step 4: Decide what type of adoption is right for you. There are several kinds of adoption, each with its own complications, wait times and advantages. No matter which option you choose, starting with an attorney is always your best choice. Public Social Service Agency Adoption Public agency adoption involves any child in public foster care, those involuntarily terminated from their parents, most children with special needs (abuse issues, medical needs, sibling groups, age, etc.), or any child in the custody of the state or county. Cost is usually none or minimal. Private Agency Adoption Private agency adoption offers more flexibility, younger children and babies. Private agency adoption fees start at $15,000. Intercountry, also called foreign or international, adoption is also in this category. Independent Adoption Independent adoption involves an attorney, the birth parents, and the adoptive parents. The choise of adoptive parents depends on the individual birth parents’ wishes. Costs include attorney fees, court costs, travel and any support given to the birth mother. Paid Facilitator (Unlicenced Agency) Adoption Paid facilitator adoption is not allowed in most states and poses a legal risk. Facilitators are not licenced in most states. Paid facilitator adoption offers less protection for the adopting couple, birth parent, or the child. Some facilitators charge the same or more than licenced adoption agencies. Check carefully when choosing this option. Step 5: Investigate ways to cover adoption expenses Adoption agency service charges vary widely. Always request information from the agency prior to signing any contracts. Many agencies reduce service fees to families who adopt children with special needs. You will need a home study, and because adoption is a legal process, you will need an attorney. The cost of a home study vary. Plan to spend between $2,000-$3,000. Attorney fees and court costs can range from $1,500 to $7,000 depending on the complexity of your case. Fortunately, due to federal and employer-initiated programs, parents have several options for covering the cost of special needs adoption. Loans Adoptive Families can apply for flexible loans such as home equity loans and insuranceloans. GrantsThe National Adoption Foundation (NAF) provides eligible families with financial assistance, services, and support before, during, and after their adoptions are finalized. Employer assistance Employers that offer adoption benefits may provide workers with: direct cash assistance for adoption expenses reimbursement of approved adoption expensespaid or unpaid leave (above and beyond federal leave requirements established through the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993)resource and referral services Tax Credit Since tax year 2002, adoptive parents whose annual adjusted gross income is less than $190,000 have been able to take advantage of up to $10,000 in tax credits or per child to offset qualifying out of pocket adoption expenses. For special needs adoptions finalized in 2003 and after, adoptive parents can claim up to $10,000 adoption tax credit per child regardless of their out of pocket expenses. The tax credit can be carried over for 5 years if not all used in the first year. Adoption Assistance If adopting a child who has special needs, adoptive parents may be eligible for a federal or state adoption subsidy (also known as adoption assistance). Special needs children are considered hard-to-place and therefore qualify the adopting parents for special services. Special need is decided by each state but is always based on age, number of siblings in the group, medical needs, or history of severe abuse or neglect. These children can be from a public or private agency but must fit the state criteria to qualify. Benefits vary from state to state, but commonly include: monthly cash payments medical assistancesocial servicesone time adoption costs (travel, legal fees, court costs) Step 6: Begin the Home Study Process A home study is best described as an educational and evaluation process designed to help your social worker learn more about your ability to provide a stable home, to teach you about adoption and its affect on children and families, and to prepare you to parent a child whose experiences and history may be different from your own. With few exceptions, everyone who hopes to adopt must have a completed home study. Depending on the agency, the worker, and the prospective parents cooperation, the process can take from two months to a year. The following items are commonly required during the home study process: an autobiographical statement a statement you create about your life history; certified copies of birth certificates for you, your partner, and any children; a certified copy of your marriage license certified copies of divorce decrees the death certificate of a former spouse certified copies of the finalization or adoption decrees for any adopted children child abuse and criminal record clearances, or a notarized statement from the police declaring that you and your partner have faced no felony convictions income verification (may include tax returns, W-2 forms, and paycheck stubs) a statement of health provided by a physician, which might include lab test results written references from friends, employers, neighbors, etc. finger prints Interviews Step 7: Attend Adoption and Parenting Classes Public agencies require adoptive-foster parenting classes. These classes are designed to acquaint prospective parents with issues that can arise when adopting a child in state custody. Private agencies or attorneys may also require some form of parenting training.Contact your local Foster Parent Association or your state or county department of social services for information on training available in your area. Step 8: Begin Searching for a Child If you adopt through an agency, learn how the agency matches birth and adoptive parents. Home studied families, approved to adopt, can register to become a site member of AdoptUSKids.org. If you are a family or individual at the beginning of the adoption process, you can use AdoptUSKids.org to view children awaiting adoption in the United States. You do not need a “user ID” or “password” to search the listings of waiting foster children and read their profiles. Photolistings are also available for individual states.(These lists do not include those children available through private agencies, independent sources, or facilitators.) To keep the process moving, stay in close contact with your agency and offer to help in the search process by reviewing photolistings, attending matching parties, or updating your parent profile. The North American Council on Adoptable Children (NACAC) maintains a listing of adoptive parent support groups, as well as other good sources of information about special needs adoption. To request a list of local support groups and other adoption resources, contact NACAC at www.info@nacac.org.
